Despite the fact that I am 14 weeks now, this little one still does not like onions or garlic. Pork is finally okay, and steak is great!!! But on Sunday I was hit with not one, but two cravings. Last time, with ds, I didn't have any cravings, and I don't remember having any with dd. But this time, I distinctly wanted Red Vines and Gummy Bears. Today, having to go out for dd's piano lesson and to get some new snow gear to replace stuff they've outgrown, I also made stops for my candy. Yes. My candy. I did share some with the kids, but told them, it's not ours, it's mine. I'm sharing with you. In other words, if I haven't specifically told you you can have some, keep your hands off! Because the next time the craving hits, I don't want to have to go to the store again.
Craving satisfied.
In other news, this week I had another dream of seeing Ziggy parts through my womb. This time it was hands. It was as if Zig had his/her back to mine and was upright, put the left hand out to the womb wall, and shortly after, the right. They slid back and forth a little, somewhat like Zig was waving to us. You could see every finger. And they were the size of a 1-year-old's hands, not tiny newborn hands, or even-tinier 14-weeks-pregnant hands.
This week's baby v. fruit comparison is a "small lemon". They sure like fruit!
And, seeing as my baby bump is more defined, and I've been in maternity jeans for 2 solid weeks, I'm finally "feeling" pregnant! All the ladies in my Ravelry "due in" group have had ultrasounds by now and have another scheduled to find out the gender. All have seen or heard the heartbeat by now. I think we are the only ones who haven't. We considered picking up a slightly used doppler for $45 shipped, but decided against it. This means we have to wait 'til at least 20 weeks for there being even a chance of hearing Zig's heartbeat with a stethoscope. We got one for fun this past summer for $1 at a church's rummage sale. Let the kids hear their hearts and stuff. I tried listening for that tell-tale fast whoosh, whoosh but all I could hear was tummy gurgles. Ah, well, guess we'll keep waiting!
